SIEL & OIEL Support

Individual licences, fully supported

Expert support with Standard and Open Individual Export Licences — before, during and after issue.

Overview

Standard Individual Export Licences (SIELs) cover specific quantities of goods to a named consignee and end user. Open Individual Export Licences (OIELs) are more flexible, covering multiple shipments of specified goods to specified destinations. Choosing between them — and using them correctly once issued — makes a real difference to how smoothly you can trade.

I help you decide which is right for your business, prepare strong applications, and make sure your team understands exactly what the licence allows, what conditions are attached, and what records you need to keep to show you've complied.

Questions

SIEL & OIEL Support FAQs

What's the difference between a SIEL and an OIEL?

A SIEL covers a specific quantity of named goods to a named consignee and end user. An OIEL covers multiple shipments of specified goods to specified destinations, often to more than one consignee. OIELs are more flexible but usually involve a more detailed application and closer scrutiny of your compliance.

Do I need an end-user undertaking?

For most SIEL applications, yes — a signed undertaking from the end user stating what the goods will be used for. I'll make sure your customer has clear guidance on completing it correctly.

What records do I need to keep?

Licences carry record-keeping conditions covering what was shipped, when, to whom and under which licence. I'll help you set up a simple system that meets the requirements without adding unnecessary admin.

Not sure where to start?

Whether it's one product or a whole range, a first shipment or an audit next month — a short conversation is usually the quickest way to find out what you need.
