Who I am
This website is operated by Julie Lever, trading as Julie Lever Export Licensing Consultancy ("I", "me"). I am the data controller for personal information collected through this website. You can contact me about this notice or your information at julie.lever@jlexportlicensing.com or on 07936 787407.
What information I collect
When you send an enquiry using the contact form, I collect the information you provide: your name, email address, and optionally your phone number, company name, the service you're interested in, and your message.
When you visit the website, the server that hosts it records standard technical information, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request. This is used to keep the website running securely.
How I use it
- To respond to your enquiry and, if you wish, to discuss and provide my services. The legal basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and my legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries.
- To protect the contact form from spam and abuse. Your IP address is held briefly in the server's memory (for up to an hour) to detect repeated automated submissions. This is in my legitimate interest in keeping the website secure.
I do not sell your information, use it for automated decision-making, or add you to marketing lists without your consent.
Who I share it with
I use a small number of trusted service providers to run this website:
- A website hosting provider, which stores and serves the website.
- An email delivery provider (Resend), which delivers contact form enquiries to my inbox.
- Content delivery networks that supply the website's fonts, icons and styling (Google Fonts, jsDelivr and Tailwind CSS). Your browser connects to these directly, so they receive your IP address.
Some of these providers may process information outside the UK. Where they do, appropriate safeguards are in place as required by UK data protection law. I may also disclose information where required by law.
How long I keep it
Enquiries that don't lead to work are kept for up to two years, so that I can refer back to earlier conversations, and then deleted. If you become a client, your information is kept for as long as needed to provide my services and to meet legal, accounting and regulatory requirements.
Cookies
This website uses only strictly necessary cookies, which protect the contact form against forged submissions. It does not use analytics or advertising cookies.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to request access to your personal information, to ask for it to be corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict how it's used, and to request a copy in a portable format. To make a request, please contact me using the details above.
If you're unhappy with how your information has been handled, please contact me first so that I can try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
